Melanie Martin has been active in the field of dog training for more than thirty years as a specialist in private practice. Since studying and apprenticing under the renowned trainer Bill Taylor of National Dog Training, she has worked with thousands of dogs of all breeds, sizes, temperaments, ages, and backgrounds. Training has been conducted in the homes of clients as well as in groups for corporations, community programs, and animal hospitals. Melanie has been involved with show-ring handling, judging, temperament testing, grooming, boarding, and consultations on breed selection, personal protection, and pet supplies and has received recognition from various dog-related newsletters. She has also served as an expert witness in dog-bite litigation on several occasions.
Melanie has successfully competed with nationally-ranked handlers in more than 200 American Kennel Club (AKC) shows throughout the United States. She is the recipient of numerous championship and obedience titles, trophies, plaques, silverplates, rosettes, ribbons, and cash awarded by the AKC. Melanie has also been named "Best Handler" by the Gold Coast Kennel Club.
Melanie is the loving mother of two beautiful daughters and her Tibetan Terrier, Tango.
